Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about precision drone spraying in Manitoba.

01.Is drone spraying legal in Manitoba?

Yes. On June 30, 2026, Health Canada finalized its policy allowing drone application of any product already registered for conventional aerial application. Commercial drone applicators in Manitoba must hold Drone-class pesticide applicator licensing and follow Transport Canada drone rules. Driftline AG operates with Transport Canada certified pilots and licensed commercial applicators.

02.What can a spray drone apply?

Fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides — any product registered for aerial application, applied according to its label. We also handle cover crop and pasture seeding, spot spraying, and mapping & surveying.

03.How much does drone spraying cost?

Pricing depends on acreage, product, field conditions, and travel. Contact us for a custom quote — we respond within one business day.

04.How does drone spraying compare to a ground sprayer?

No soil compaction, no wheel-track crop damage, and access to wet fields, sloughs, hillsides, and ditches that ground equipment can't reach. GPS-guided application with precise targeting means less product waste and less drift.

05.Is drone spraying safe for neighbouring fields?

Yes — GPS-guided flight paths, precise targeting, and strict label compliance (including buffer zones) keep product where it belongs. Our drone application produces 95% less chemical drift than ground equipment.

06.What if my fields are too wet for a sprayer?

That's one of the best cases for a drone. We fly over wet ground, so there's no rutting, no compaction, and no waiting for fields to dry to hit a critical application window.

07.Do I get records of the application?

Yes. Every application comes with GPS-tracked treatment records and digital reporting.

08.What areas do you serve?

We're based in Minnedosa, Manitoba, and serve operations across Manitoba — Southern Manitoba, Central Manitoba, the Interlake, Parkland, Brandon area, Pembina Valley, Winnipeg region, and Eastern Manitoba — and into Western Canada.

09.What do I need to provide to get started?

Tell us your location, acreage, and what you need applied. We'll handle flight planning and provide GPS-tracked records of the job.
